About 90% of our inventory comes from our buyback program, which means we buy gently used books from readers in Halifax. This keeps our prices affordable and our selection constantly changing. We do carry some new items like greeting cards, notebooks, and small gifts.

We don't order new books due to the minimum order requirements from publishers. However, you can use our app to request specific used titles. When a book you've requested comes into our inventory through the buyback program, we'll notify you right away. You can also search our current catalogue online and place an order for in-store or local pickup.

We accept books during scheduled buyback weekends only (typically every other month). Bring books in excellent condition, we evaluate them based on what we need, and you receive store credit. Maximum 20 books per person per buyback weekend. Please don't drop books off outside of scheduled buyback weekends. If you need to bring books during the week, contact us first. Not as a regular practice, but you're welcome to leave any books we don't accept during buyback evaluations with us for donation to the Salvation Army.

Yes! We have a large, bright children's room with natural light, forward-facing books, and courtyard views. It's designed to be welcoming for both kids and parents. The kids' room is separated from the main store so families can explore comfortably.

Yes. You can search our catalogue online and place an order for in-store pickup or local delivery. We don't ship nationally, but we're happy to help you find what you're looking for and have it ready when you visit.

Yes! Gift cards are available for purchase online or in-store. They're perfect for book lovers of any age and can be used on anything in the store. Buy a Gift Card

All sales are final. However, gifts with a gift receipt can be exchanged for another item of equal value.

Yes! We host an intimate book club led by our knowledgeable staff. The discussions are thoughtful, the books are carefully chosen, and new members are always welcome. Check our events calendar or contact us for the next meeting date and book selection.

Yes! We love meeting furry friends. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the store.

Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 4. Add media from your library and save.

You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.
